Regeneration – Exploring Regenerative Viticulture
Earlier this year, a friend pointed out the 2022 Wine Writing Competition on JancisRobinson.com. I’m passionate about this subject, so I went to investigate.
They were looking for stories of Regeneration, but more than just the soil. The word “regeneration” is powerful, it’s the idea of going beyond the status quo of keeping things going, into the realm of making things better.
I had already been lucky enough to have spoken with people at the first two Regenerative Organic Certified vineyards in the world. Jason Haas at Tablas Creek and Craig Camp of Troon vineyards, graciously agreed to speak with me again on the subject and put me in touch with Elizabeth Whitlow who is the Executive Director of the Regenerative Organic Alliance.
My wonderful conversations with them are tied in with personal experience, just with being a human on the planet who is looking for a way to help to make the planet a little better.
I hope you will give my piece a read.

* The Jancis Robinson WWC22 received 69 entries this year. They publish the best of those pieces in the weeks leading up to the announcement of the winner of the competition in September.
They expect to have a shortlist posted on September 7th for a peoples vote for best entry! Perhaps you will return and give my article your vote!
